You'll take classes in digital imaging, computer graphics, art for reproduction, promotional design, and print production techniques in an exciting hands-on environment with expert faculty who work as professionals in the industry. Apply your new-found educational skills and work on real-world projects for organizations in the community such as the City of Fort Lauderdale, the Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Shoes for the Soul. Learn industry-related software, including QuarkXPress® and a full range of Adobe® and Macromedia® products for print, interactive, and Web design and production. Then, graduate with a portfolio that reflects your unique talent and creativity ready to take you to the next level. The bachelor's degree will prepare you with competencies in the areas of advanced technical skills, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving ability. These skills prepare graduates to seek entry-level positions including production manager, art director, graphic designer, or digital artist. The associate's degree will prepare you for an entry-level position in the ever-changing and diverse fields of page layout, image manipulation and production through technical and aesthetic skills and prepare you to seek entry-level positions such as assistant designer, graphic designer, or production artist. The diploma program will teach you the basic skills needed to take commercial art projects through all phases of production. Graduates are prepared to seek entry-level employment as layout and production artists and graphic designers. If you're already in the industry and want to update your design and computer skills, then pursuing this program might be best for you so when you graduate you can focus on becoming an art director, production manager, or creative director. |
